Beautiful, Straight Smile with Orthodontics
From braces to aligners, your perfect smile is just around the corner!
Crooked teeth, overcrowding, gaps, overbite, underbite, open bite, and more… At Gold Coast Dental Buena Park, our expert orthodontists correct your smile on your terms. Orthodontics isn’t completed in a day, so we want you to have the best experience possible when straightening your teeth. We offer multiple treatment options personalized to your unique smile and needs.

Metal Braces
Traditional metal braces use brackets, wires, and elastics to gradually push your smile into its best and healthiest alignment. These tried-and-true appliances take a thorough approach to orthodontics, allowing them to fix even some of the most complicated and severe orthodontic issues with ease. Depending on your individual smile, treatment can last 18 to 36 months for comprehensive treatment.

Invisalign
For a near-invisible orthodontic experience, Invisalign is a great choice. These custom-fit clear aligners are designed to apply gentle pressure to certain trouble areas of the mouth, often achieving results faster than bracket braces. Most patients finish Invisalign treatment in 8 to 18 months. While Invisalign isn’t quite as effective as braces, they can tackle mild, moderate, and even some severe orthodontic problems with ease.

Clear Braces
If you’re not a fan of metal braces’ appearance but need more extensive treatment than Invisalign, clear braces strike the perfect balance. These braces use tooth-colored or transparent ceramic brackets rather than metal ones, making your procedure less noticeable but just as effective as traditional braces.
Dental Bonding and Porcelain Veneers
Get ready for a total smile makeover with dental bonding and porcelain veneers!
Dental bonding and porcelain veneers are incredibly versatile treatments, capable of correcting a variety of cosmetic issues simultaneously. Both bonding and veneers are flexible to each patient's specific needs, from minor cracks, chips, and crookedness to gaps, uneven teeth, and teeth stains. However, how do you decide which one is best for your smile? Bonding uses composite resin to build up and reshape your tooth’s look. Composite is the same material used in dental fillings, so it can blend in seamlessly with your natural
enamel while reinforcing your tooth. It can be used to comprehensively change your smile’s appearance, such as when whitening teeth. Or it can be used much more minimally to pinpoint certain problems, such as small cracks and chips in the tooth’s surface. Bonding is minimally invasive and can stay in great shape for more than half a decade. Veneers instead redesign your entire tooth’s appearance by dentally cementing a porcelain shell to the front of your tooth. While veneers are incredibly thin—about 0.5mm thick—they require
your tooth to be trimmed to fit them without any bulkiness or discomfort. For patients nervous about reshaping their teeth, we also offer thinner veneers called Lumineers, which require little to no tooth preparation. While more expensive than bonding, porcelain veneers can last more than 20 to 25 years, making them a great long-term investment in your smile. Need help deciding which choice is right for your smile? No problem! Call (714) 278-4978 today to book a consultation with our caring cosmetic dentists.
The Benefits of Cosmetic Dentistry
Along with a more beautiful smile, there are so many advantages cosmetic treatments have to offer!

Better Self-Esteem and Confidence
Attractive smiles are well-known to help boost a person’s self-esteem and confidence, so you don’t need to hide your teeth behind hands or closed lips. Studies also show that people who smile more are generally happier, healthier, and more successful in their professional and personal lives.

Healthier Smile
An attractive smile is often a healthier one, too. Crooked and uneven teeth can be difficult to properly clean, leading to cavities and gingivitis. Cracked and chipped teeth are more vulnerable to infection, and the damage can easily become more severe when biting down too hard on something.

Reduced Headaches and Jaw Pain
Uneven bites and misaligned smiles can often put too much pressure on your jaws and jaw joints, leading to chronic headaches, jaw pain, and TMJ. By correcting your teeth and jaws with braces or clear aligners, you can enjoy your day without these persistent problems.

Easier Talking and Eating
Missing teeth and orthodontic issues can both impact your ability to speak clearly and eat easily. Lisps are incredibly common issues, and tooth gaps make chewing your meals properly difficult, leading to digestion problems too.

Long-Term Savings
By keeping your smile healthier, cosmetic dentistry can help your wallet in the long run by preventing future dental problems and other dental treatments, like fillings and crowns.

What does cosmetic dentistry include?
Cosmetic dentistry is an incredibly varied field, encompassing a broad range of treatments meant to ensure your smile looks and stays bright and healthy. These procedures span from surface-level aesthetics to major restorative work. Some of the most popular cosmetic treatments at Gold Coast Dental include teeth whitening, bonding, veneers, gum contouring, dental implants, porcelain crowns, braces, and Invisalign.
-
What is cosmetic teeth whitening?
Teeth whitening removes teeth stains and brightens discolored teeth. While there are over-the-counter products like whitening strips and toothpastes, they are not very effective. For a more dramatic and long-lasting effect, professional teeth whitening can lighten teeth by up to 8 shades in a single one-hour visit to our office. Our dental office uses the Zoom! system, which utilizes special UV light to further activate the whitening peroxide and achieve even brighter results. We also offer at-home whitening kits for professional-level results in the comfort of your home.
-
What happens to teeth under veneers?
To prepare your teeth for porcelain veneers, they will need to be shaved about 0.5mm. This process provides a rough surface for the veneer to securely bond to and also prevents adding any uncomfortable bulkiness to your tooth. Tooth reshaping is minimal, reaching only the tooth’s hard outer enamel layer. However, we also offer no-prep Lumineers, which are thin enough to skip the tooth reshaping process.
-
Does shaving your teeth damage them?
No. When prepping your teeth for veneers, your cosmetic dentist will not go deeper into the tooth than the enamel, leaving the vulnerable and sensitive inner tooth fully intact. Your teeth may be slightly more sensitive than normal, but they will be just as healthy. In some cases, they may be healthier as reshaping your enamel can remove surface-level tooth decay and cavities.
-
What do dentists use instead of amalgam?
While silver amalgam used to be the dental filling material of choice, it has long since been replaced almost entirely with dental composite. Composite fillings are tooth-colored and invisible to spot, thanks to our cosmetic dentists’ skill.
-
Can I whiten bonded teeth?
No. Unlike natural enamel, dental composite isn’t porous and won’t absorb whitening peroxide. However, dental composite is resistant to staining, and it can be easily replaced if necessary. The bonding process only takes half an hour to complete.
