We've all seen Hollywood stars with their flawless, bright white teeth, and we all know that not every celebrity was born with the perfect set of pearly whites. In most cases, these stars rely on porcelain dental veneers to achieve their red-carpet-ready smiles. What are dental veneers? Veneers are 0.5mm-thin porcelain facades bonded to the fronts of your teeth, allowing you to attain a total smile makeover instantly. At Gold Coast Dental Buena Park, our affordable porcelain veneers let you make the smile of your dreams a reality.
Dental veneers are incredibly flexible to our patients’ individual smiles and needs. They can easily correct a wide selection of aesthetic issues simultaneously to create a beautiful smile that you can’t help but show off. Thanks to porcelain veneers, you can finally say goodbye to: deep dental stains and discoloration, crooked and uneven teeth, gaps between teeth, cracked or chipped enamel, misshapen and lumpy teeth, and natural dental wear and tear.
Each of our porcelain veneers are personalized to your unique smile, highlighting your best natural features. Our cosmetic dentistry team takes the size, color, and shape into account with their designs. We also use the highest-quality materials and tools to ensure you get the most out of your new and improved smile. What to Expect
Achieve your amazing smile makeover on your terms!
Porcelain veneers are a simple way to perfect your smile, and the process is quick enough to be completed in just two visits. While veneers are incredibly thin, a cosmetic dentist will need to trim the outermost part of the tooth’s enamel. This tooth reshaping is painless and very minimal—about 0.5mm—leaving the soft inner layers of the tooth below healthy and fully intact. It also provides a rough surface for the porcelain to adhere to while preventing awkward bulkiness and discomfort. The cosmetic dentist will then take an impression
of your tooth, allowing us to create a custom veneer that perfectly fits your tooth and smile. While the porcelain veneer is being made, a temporary veneer will be placed over your tooth. Once your permanent veneer is ready, we’ll have you come in for your final placement. The entire process is quick and discomfort-free, from start to finish. And once it’s done, you’ll have a winning grin to write home about. Excited to experience your smile 2.0? We understand! Reach out to us at (714) 278-4978 to book an appointment at our dental office.
Why Patients Love Dental Veneers
Discover why our porcelain veneers are a favorite among patients!

Stain-Resistant
Veneers aren’t the only way to brighten your smile. While professional teeth whitening can quickly remove a decade of stains, the results often only last a couple of years. Eventually, teeth can yellow again from coffee, red wine, curries, and other notorious stainers. However, porcelain is highly stain-resistant, so your teeth can stay bright white throughout your veneers’ lifespan. For many patients, this can span more than a decade.

Boosted Self-Esteem
Never feel like you need to hide your smile again! Dental veneers can give patients the confidence they need to take pride in their pearly whites. Plus, the more often you smile, the better it can be for your health and happiness. Smiling releases endorphins, which relieve stress, improve moods, and more!

Long-Lasting
Porcelain veneers have an incredibly long lifespan, especially when compared to similar cosmetic treatments like dental bonding. How long do porcelain veneers last? On average, veneers can last 10 to 15 years. However, with good care, they can stay in great shape for well over 20 years.

Improved Dental Health
Minor cracks and chips might not be immediately dangerous or painful on their own, but they leave your teeth vulnerable to tooth decay and infection. By repairing this damage, porcelain veneers protect your smile from future cavities and dental problems. The tooth preparation process can also remove surface-level tooth decay already existing on your tooth.
Which Is Better: Veneers or Dental Bonding?
Achieve your amazing smile makeover on your terms!
Tooth bonding is another similar cosmetic treatment to porcelain veneers. It is often used to fix the same aesthetic issues (stains, cracks, chips, gaps, crookedness, uneven teeth, misshapenness.) However, it uses dental composite resin rather than a porcelain tooth facade. The composite is applied directly to the tooth and molded into shape with a UV curing light used to harden the bonding. When deciding between veneers and bonding, which is best for you? Veneers are generally more effective than bonding. With tooth reshaping and a more comprehensive
approach, porcelain veneers can take on more moderate aesthetic issues. Porcelain is also much stronger and longer-lasting than composite bonding. It’s also more stain-resistant, so it can stay brighter and whiter throughout its lifespan. Dental veneers can last more than 15 or 20 years, but bonding has an average lifespan of 5 to 10 years. While porcelain is more costly than bonding, veneers’ greater longevity allows them to be an excellent long-term investment. However, the tooth prep process is permanent, which many patients are wary about. There are some no-prep
veneers, like Lumineers, which are thin enough to not need any tooth reshaping. Still, bonding requires little to no tooth preparation. This not only keeps the enamel more intact but also lets our cosmetic dentists finish your treatment in as little as 30 minutes. Additionally, while bonding can’t quite achieve the same drastic level of changes, they can allow for more subtle changes as bonding can be applied as much or as little as necessary. Still not sure which choice is right for your smile? No worries! Call (714) 278-4978 today to schedule a consultation with our top cosmetic dentists.

-
What is the best color for veneers?
The answer depends on the person. Veneers are personalized to each patient. Our cosmetic dentists aim to strike a balance between bright white and a healthy, natural-looking shade. The general rule is that your veneers shouldn’t be brighter than the whites of your eyes.
-
Are veneers permanent?
While they don’t last forever, veneers are incredibly long-lasting, with a typical lifespan of about 15 years. However, the veneers process does permanently alter your tooth. The enamel removed can’t regenerate on its own. For patients nervous about these changes, feel free to ask us about our no-prep veneer options.
-
How much do veneers cost?
Several factors determine a patient's dental veneers cost. What type of veneer and brand is used? How many veneers are needed? How much tooth preparation is needed? Like most cosmetic procedures, veneers are not covered by dental insurance. However, our office offers several alternative financing options to ensure our patients’ treatments are affordable. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to call us at (714) 278-4978 and schedule a consultation.
-
Can you put veneers on crooked teeth?
Veneers are often used to correct one or two minorly crooked teeth, no braces needed. However, with more extensive orthodontic issues, you will still need braces or aligners. We recommend finishing orthodontic treatment before veneers. We want to tailor your veneers to your final smile for the best and healthiest results, especially when correcting gaps and uneven teeth.
-
Can you get veneers without shaving your teeth?
Yes. Our dental office also has no-preparation veneers available upon request. They are thinner than standard porcelain veneers, allowing them to fit comfortably without any alterations to your teeth. However, they are also less durable and long-lasting than thicker, hardier porcelain.
-
Can veneers be whitened?
No. Teeth can be whitened because they are naturally porous and can absorb dental peroxide to lift stains and discoloration. Porcelain is not porous, so it cannot whiten. However, this also makes them highly resistant to stains. As veneers are commonly used for teeth whitening, you can enjoy bright white results for up to two decades.
